A 3D-printable Neobot! Beep! [^w^]

neobot.zip

The .zip archive contains:

  • Neobot.blend
  • Neobot.3mf

The .blend file contains the base mesh of the Neobot. The mesh is separated into smaller parts that make up the entire mesh. Modifiers exist but should be applied by Blender before being exported (nearly all exporters support that option or one does it manually). It can be converted to other file formats that Blender supports (either built-in support or by plugin support) The file also contains the reference of the original .svg imported as curves.

The .3mf file is for convenience. Import the .3mf into ones slicer of choice that also supports .3mf files. The parts come separated, tell the slicer that the parts should be imported as is (else the location/offsets of the parts will be lost)

Some caveats:

  • The heart is floating. Supports should handle the heart… but one can add some solid object in the slicer software of choice below the heart for added stability.
  • The eyes stick out a little. This one suggests adding additional supports under the eyes… though existing supports should be able to handle this as well.

If one wishes for the Neobot without the heart in front, remove the last two objects of the imported file. The Neobot should now be without arms and heart.

Since the file is in .3mf format, any material can be applied to any part available. Try out which materials fit! (This one printed the body in grey PLA, the visor inlet in black PLA, the heart in red PLA and the eyes and the tip of the antenna in fluorescent cyan PETG.)

Many thanks to:
